JOAN CATHERINE GRANDFIELD

Joan Catherine Grandfield passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at the age of 86, at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her husband, Jon, and her three children, Wendy Uhde, Beth Grandfield, and Scott Grandfield. Born on December 25, 1939, to Harry and Marion Vila (nee Harvey), Joan was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Rightmyer. She is survived by her grandchildren, Sadie Lees (Derek), Halle Mortimer (Nick), Eric Uhde (Valerie), Cameron Grandfield, Owen Grandfield, and Isla Grandfield, as well as her great-grandson, Niko Lees. Scott's wife, Alexandra, and Wendy's husband, Ralph, were also very special to her. Joan will be remembered by her Vila cousins and extended Vila family, her nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Opal. Joan and Jon were married for 63 years and were best friends and companions for 70 years. Private services will be held.
