Betty Marie Hughes

Betty Marie Hughes of Port Hope, Ontario, was born on June 4, 1929, and died on August 24, 2026, at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her husband John "Jack" Hughes and by her siblings Dorothy Austin, Donna Morlock, and Ted Smith. She is survived by her children, Scott and Karen Brereton, her grandchildren David Brereton, Deana, Dion Riley, Shawn, Kim, Sara and Gill, as well as many nieces and nephews. Additional caregivers named Ed's House and Jeanette are also listed among her survivors. A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Port Hope Legion, 29a Thomas Street, Port Hope, ON L1A 3V9.
