John Carl GERTH

John Carl Gerth, formerly of Linwood, passed away peacefully at The Village Seniors Community in Hanover on February 17, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on November 15, 1934, to the late Carl and Pauline Gerth, he was a devoted family man and hard worker, employed by E&E Seegmiller Construction for most of his life. Despite his diabetes, John remained active and enjoyed walking, cutting grass, and volunteering at the cemetery. He also appreciated occasional trips to the casino. John was predeceased by his lifelong companion of 65 years, Ruth Gerth. He is survived by his sons Doug and Darryl Gerth, and loved by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Trishalyn, Jayme, Christa, Niki, Jayden, Brooklyn, Chase, Cody, Ethan, Maya, Addilynn, and Jayce. A private inurnment will be held in the spring, honouring his wishes. The family extends their gratitude to the nurses and staff at The Village Seniors Community, particularly Lattoya, for their care and support. Memorial donations to St. Peter's Lutheran Church - Linwood would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Mighton Funeral Home in Hanover.
