Venera Chiofalo

Venera Chiofalo (née Montecristo) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on April 18, 1941, in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Sicily, Venera came to Canada with her husband, Antonio, in 1964. She was predeceased by her brother, Giuseppe Montecristo; her sisters-in-law, Francesca and Franca; and her brother-in-law, Mariano. Venera will be profoundly missed by her beloved husband of 61 years, Antonio Chiofalo; her loving children, Nancy and her husband Peter Filice, Carmelina and her husband Siu-Kei Chung, and Carmen; her cherished grandchildren, Lauren and Kristen; her beloved brothers, Tony Montecristo, and Pietro Montecristo of Italy, and their families; her dear brothers-in-law, Miggo and Tindero, both of Italy, and their families; her niece, Melinda Montecristo, and her family; her nephew, Sam Montecristo, and his family, as well as many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held.
