Theresa Mary Jane 'MJ' Ling passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 75. She was the beloved sister of Patricia Ling Higenell, sister-in-law to Joyce Ling, aunt to Brenda and Merk Sokolow, Linda and Jerry Sikora, Michael and Amanda, Annette and Barry Bodo, and Virginia and David Hewick. MJ was also a great-aunt to a bevy of nieces and nephews, most fondly Brent Renaud, and a loving caregiver to her cherished cats, Sushi and Kobi. Predeceased by her parents, Marie and John Ling, brothers, Frank and Bernard, and sister, Barbara. MJ had an illustrious career at the City of Toronto in aquatics management and in the sport of artistic swimming. An accomplished athlete, coach, official, and administrator, her legacy spans six decades, and her contributions to the sport are immeasurable. Through her dedication and leadership, MJ made a significant impact at Ontario Artistic Swimming and many clubs, including the Dalewood Ducks, Olympium Synchro, Toronto Synchro, and York Synchro. Her kindness and generosity brought great joy to the lives of all whom she touched. MJ will be remembered for encouraging and inspiring all to dream big and to believe in themselves. A private family service will be held in accordance with Mary-Jane's wishes. Memorial donations may be made to the Sick Kids Foundation, Canadian Red Cross, World Wildlife Fund Canada, Covenant House, or Salvation Army, as chosen by MJ.
