Rita (NEE Ciardelli) SERAFINI
Rita Serafini (née Ciardelli) passed away at St. Peter's Hospital on March 30, 2026, in her 82nd year. She was the beloved wife of Dino Serafini for over 57 years and a devoted and cherished mother to Antonietta Serafini (Andrea) and Franca Serafini. Rita was predeceased by her parents, Angelo and Tomassina (née Melozzi); and siblings, Gaetano (Maria) Ciardelli, Eva (Giovanni) Nardini, and Felice Ciardelli. She was also predeceased by her in-laws Antonio and Concetta Serafini, as well as by her brother-in-law Fernando Serafini. Rita will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends, including the many colleagues and customers whose lives she touched throughout her many years of dedicated service at Fazzari Supermarket, Food City, and Nardini Specialties. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Peter's Hospital, the VON nurses, and CBI PSWs for their kindness, compassion, and exceptional care. Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
