Neil Michael MACNEIL

Neil Michael MacNeil passed away on February 8, 2026, in his 96th year. He is survived by his daughter, Marlene Parsons and her husband, Clint; his son, Michael MacNeil and his wife, Tammy; as well as his son, Neil MacNeil, Jr., and his wife, Melanie. He was also a proud grandfather of Andrew, Adam, Lauren, and Jenna. Neil is also survived by his sister, Dorothy 'Dottie' Almon; sisters-in-law, Betty Payne and Nicky Rutledge; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Murdoch, Norman, Angus, and Duncan; his sister, Margaret; and his brothers-in-law, Dennis Rutledge, Pete Payne, and Bob Almon. Neil was a proud Cape Bretoner and worked as a steelmaker at Burlington Steel/Slater Steel for over 30 years. Friends will be received at the M.A. Clark & Sons Funeral Home, 567 Upper Wellington Street, Hamilton, on Thursday, February 19, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church (Fennell Avenue East and East 37th Street, Hamilton) on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton.
