Michael Ng
Michael Seek Gee Ng passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Fay, children Stephanie Fay and Michael Howard, and his grandchildren Michael Edwin and Vanessa. He is also survived by his older sister, Bik Wen Tam. Michael was predeceased by his mother, Tak Kin Tam, and older brother, Henry Shu Man Ng. Born in Hoi Ping, Canton, China, Michael immigrated to Hamilton at the age of 14 and went on to become a successful restaurateur, opening Chinese food restaurants South Pacific and The Forbidden City. He was a dedicated supporter of education and the arts, and served on numerous committees and organizations, including the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Canadian Club of Hamilton, and Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra. Michael received several honors for his contributions, including The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal and the Ontario Volunteer Service Award. He will be remembered for his kindness, honesty, and respect for his community.
