Matthew McGRATH

Matthew McGRATH passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 54, at St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was predeceased by his father, Brian. Matthew is survived by his devoted sister, Lorraine, his loving brothers, Nevil and Leighton, his heartbroken mother, Monika, and his stepfather, Nigel. A keen observer of nature and an avid fisherman, Matthew also enjoyed reading and philosophical discussions. He will be remembered for his gift of establishing rapport with people and his huge heart. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre, Bayshore Healthcare, and St. Peter's Hospital for their compassionate care. A celebration of Matthew's life will be announced at a later date.
