Mary RIDOS

Mary RIDOS passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by her family at Extendicare Hamilton. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joško. Mary was the beloved mother of Linda, Joey, Susie (Ted), and Cindy (Claudio). She was a proud and devoted Grandma of Joey Jr., David, Annie (Braden), Matthew, Nicholas (predeceased), and Katie (Jimmy), and Great-grandma of Ella and Bennett. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Slovak immigrant parents Michael and Zusana Matey, Mary later moved to Hamilton with her parents. She worked as a long-distance operator with Bell Canada before becoming a mother. Mary was known for her artistic ability, gardening, and crafting. She enjoyed spending time with her neighbours, especially Marie, Helen, and Marilyn. The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare Hamilton for their care. Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Mary and her husband Joe will be held at Michaelangelo's on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of choice.
