Marie Joyce (née Packham) JEAKINS
Marie Joyce (née Packham) Jeakins passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 77. She was born on July 27, 1948. Marie is survived by her devoted husband Lyle, with whom she spent 50 years, and her loving children Connie (Ian), Michelle, Cheryl Gzik (Tony), Vanessa, and Jeff (Hollie). She was a proud grandma to Calvin (Sarah Anne), Dylan, Nelson Gzik, Kendra (Tyler), Matthew Gzik, Daniel, Heidi, and Bronwyn. Marie is also survived by her brothers Robert (Joanne) and Lyle (Marianne), and her sister-in-law Margaret. She was predeceased by her brother Clair, sister Frances (Al), and her loving parents Glenn and May. Her extended family included many cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, and lifelong friends Ruby, Marnie, and Patty. Marie had a successful career as a medical laboratory technologist with Hamilton Public Health Laboratory and earlier at Dunnville War Memorial Hospital. She was a master trip planner who loved to travel. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Juravinski Hospital for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Juravinski Hospital, or plan an adventure for your family. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Sunday, July 5, from 2-5 p.m., and the funeral service will take place on Monday, July 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dunnville around 2 p.m.
