Maria Augusta Alves

Maria Augusta Alves of Hamilton, Ontario, passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on December 12, 1934, she is fondly remembered by her family and friends. Maria was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Alves, and her brothers, Aristides, Manuel, George, Januario, and Anibal. She is survived by her children, Ilda (Gary Lichach), Olga (Arvid Karlsen), James Alves, and Norine (Jeffrey Holk), as well as her grandchildren, Sabrina (Rob Timpano), Vanessa, Ethan, and Tessa. Additionally, she leaves behind nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, located at 796 Upper Gage Ave, Hamilton, ON L8V4K4. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 177 Park Row N, Hamilton, ON L8H4E9.
