Luis Maia Pereira

Luis Maia Pereira passed away on March 22, 2026, at the age of 89. He was reunited with his beloved wife, the late Celeste Pereira. Luis was a devoted father and father-in-law of Maria Cidalia and Henry Gaidola and Maria Celeste and Joe Masciale. He was a proud grandfather of Sandy, Edson and his wife Jacqueline, Jason and his wife Michelle, Michael Gaidola, and Michael and his wife Jessica, and Daniel Masciale. Luis was also a great-grandfather of Elton, Lily, and Sophia. He was predeceased by his parents, Albino Freire and Maria Pereira. Luis is also survived by his cherished brother and brother-in-law of Maria Conceição and the late Eduardo Bacelar, and his loving uncle of Eduarda and Lili of Portugal and extended nieces and nephews in Canada: Helena and Duarte Manuel Valente in Quebec and Odette, Rosa, Irene, Christina, and Walter Valente of Hamilton and Burlington. Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton St E, Hamilton, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary's Church on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington.
