Leonard Joseph Zettel

Leonard Joseph Zettel passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by his family at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Patricia Zettel (nee Chesney). Leonard is lovingly remembered by his children, Herbert (Esther Mosher) and Lenore (Philip Blew), and his cherished granddaughter, Ciara Blew. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Wagler, Norma Fritz, and Bill Zettel, and predeceased by his sisters, Sister Gladys Zettel, Geraldine Contini, and Jean Williamson. Born in Chepstow, Ontario, Leonard worked for 36 years at The Steel Company of Canada, retiring as a foreman. He enjoyed fishing, cottage time, and was known as 'Poppie' to Ciara. The family expresses gratitude to the staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, Meadowlands Retirement Community, and Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Donations to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice are appreciated. A memorial visitation will be held on July 4, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton, ON.
