Jovan "John" SINKOVEC

Jovan 'John' Sinkovec passed away on April 18, 2026, in his 99th year. He was the beloved husband of 74 years to Tatiana Sinkovec, predeceased in 2022. Loving father to Janie Macesic and Loretta Halligan, he was cherished Deda to his grandchildren, Daniel Macesic Jr., Laura Ekstrom, Natalie Sokay, and Rick Halligan. He will be greatly missed by his eight great-grandchildren, Sarah, Sabrina, Tianna, Elena, Evan, Dylanne, Piper, and Wren. He was a dear uncle to Vala Kazeeva and granduncle to Olga Kazeeva and Vlad Kazeev, and a treasured great-granduncle to Vera. Predeceased by his parents, Miroslav and Angelina Sinkovec, and his sisters, Vera Draskovic and Svetlana Naumovic, he will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Europe. The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Desa Bibic and staff, VON nurse Tetyana, Heritage Green Retirement Home, and St. Peter's Palliative Care for their care and support. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, located at 947 Rymal Road East, in Hamilton, on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, from 6 - 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, April 27th, 2026, at 1:00 pm, followed by interment at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington, Ontario.
