Josip Barkovic

Josip Barkovic of Hamilton, Ontario, passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born on October 9, 1939. Josip was predeceased by his parents, Imbro and Dragica Barkovic, his sisters Iva, Mara, and Barbara, and his beloved wife, Marija "Maca" Barkovic. He is survived by his children, Robert and Carmen (Isaac), his siblings Petar, Katica, and Steve, and his niece Vesna Vrđuka. Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, located at 1774 King St E, Hamilton, ON L8K1V7. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 PM on the same day. The funeral service will occur on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
