Joseph Charles Macaluso

Joseph Charles Macaluso, born on November 16, 1946, in Racalmuto, Italy, passed away on August 28, 2026, in Ottawa at the age of 79. He was married for 45 years to Janet and was a proud father to Elijah (Melissa). Joseph was the son of Elia and Carolina and is survived by two sisters, Angela and Dina, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. At the age of 10, he immigrated to Canada, later earning his MSc from McMaster University. Joseph had a distinguished career as an economist with the federal government and was actively involved in the Italian-Canadian community, contributing to scholarships and earthquake relief efforts. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of All Souls Roman Catholic Church, 21 Barton Street W, on Thursday, September 3rd at 10 a.m., with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington.
