Joào Moreira

Joào Moreira passed away on July 10, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family at Juravinski Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Modesta Moreira, and their children, Robert Moreira, Sandra and Anthony La Rocca, and Roger and Victoria Moreira. Joào was also a proud grandfather to John, Lucas, Christan, Nicholas, Marcus, and Andrew. He was predeceased by his parents, Manuel and Rosa Moreira, and several siblings and in-laws. Joào will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends in Canada and Portugal. The family will receive friends at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel on July 14, 2026, with visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church on July 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
