Jean Anne Morden
Jean Anne Morden, née Halvorsen, died peacefully on August 6, 2026, at Regina Gardens L.T.C. in Hamilton. She was born in Kirkland and spent much of her adult life in Hamilton, where she and her late husband Edward "Ed" Morden operated Dial Courier for more than twenty years, providing jobs and meals to friends and local football players. The couple also fostered four children—Diane, Debbie, Lynn and Al—who remained close to Jean throughout her life. After returning to school, she earned a Physiotherapy Assistant credential from Mohawk College and volunteered with Able Sail at LaSalle Marina. Jean was predeceased by her husband Ed (d. 1980), her son Mike (d. 2025), her parents Laura and Bert Halvorsen, her brother Jack (d. 2022) and her partner Bill Grover. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Callen (née Morden), sister‑in‑law Irene, in‑law Roxanne, grandsons Brandon, Adam and Ryan, and great‑grandchildren Aubrey, Mason, Marcus and Maxwell, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 163, 435 Limeridge Rd E, Hamilton, ON L9A 2S8.
