James "Jim" Richard SMYE

James 'Jim' Richard Smye passed away on March 28, 2026, in his 83rd year, at the age of 82. He is reunited with his beloved wife and best friend Sharon Smye, who predeceased him in 2021. Jim was a loving father of Craig and his wife Amanda, and Jason and his wife Tania. He was a much loved Papa of Corina and her husband Tarun, Jacob, Zachary, Abigail, and Jakob. Jim was a dear brother of the late Irma, Jack and his late wife Sonya, Karen and her husband Gaspare, the late Susan, and Brad and his wife Cindy, and brother-in-law of Marlene and her late husband Terry, Mark and his wife Terry, Marsha and her husband Ray, the late Charlie and his wife Bonnie, the late Tracey, and the late Rich and his wife Wendy. He was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Jessie. Jim will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Ridgeview LTC and Wentworth Heights for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. The Memorial Service to celebrate his life will follow at 1 p.m. in the Cresmount Chapel.
