Irene Mattei

Irene Mattei of Hamilton, Ontario, passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on June 14, 1937, Irene is remembered for the deep connections she forged throughout her life. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her son Michael Mattei, and her parents, Patrick and Muriel Melanson. Irene is survived by her children, Peter and Laura Mattei, and her grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, and Madeleine. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, located at 90 Garner Rd E, Hamilton, ON. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 620 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations to Food4Kids Hamilton would be appreciated.
