Giedra Szpiech

Giedra Szpiech passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the age of 73. She was the beloved and devoted wife of 49 years to Henry Szpiech. Giedra was the loving and supportive mother of Laura Figliola and her husband Joseph, and Michael Szpiech. She was the cherished and adored Grandma to Julia and Noah. Giedra will be deeply missed by her brother, Gedas P. Breichmanas and his wife Irene, and by her brother-in-law, Ted Szpiech and his wife Jeannette. She was a loving aunt to Andrew Breichmanas and his wife Frances, and Danielle Simmons and her husband Eric, and her great-nieces and great-nephew. Giedra was predeceased by her beloved parents, Genovaite and Petras Breichmanas. She dedicated many years of service to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Giedra possessed a love of music and had a beautiful singing voice. She was a gifted artist and had an extraordinary green thumb. She spent many years dancing with the Lithuanian folk group Gyvataras.
