Elly Broe

Elly Broe, nee Rasmussen, born on February 5, 1933, passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 93, after a lengthy battle with Lewy Bodies disease. She is survived by her four children, Susanne, Steven, Stewart, and Scott, and their spouses, as well as nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Elly was predeceased by her husband, John Broe, in 2003. Originally from Daugaard, Denmark, Elly settled in Hamilton with her family and developed a passion for sailing, becoming a long-time member of the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club. She had a successful career as a supervisor at AC Nielsen and enjoyed traveling with her husband, particularly to Disney World. The family is grateful for the care provided by Wentworth Heights Retirement Home and Idlewyld Manor Long Term Care. A private ceremony will be held for her interment alongside her husband.
