Dr. Peter Joseph POTICHNYJ

Peter Joseph Potichnyj passed away at home on June 3, 2026, at the age of 96. He was born on June 2, 1930. He is predeceased by his parents, Petro and Oleksandra, and his youngest brother, Wolodymyr. He is survived by his younger brother, Andrij, his wife of 69 years, Tamara, and their children, Eugene and Adriana, along with their spouses and grandchildren. Peter was a celebrated Professor Emeritus at McMaster University's Department of Political Science. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone whose care enabled Peter to pass on his terms. Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home in Hamilton on Monday, June 8, from 5-7 p.m. with Panachyda at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hamilton on Tuesday, June 9 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ukrainian World Foundation.
