Douglas "Doug" COUTTS
Douglas 'Doug' Coutts passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 4, 2026, at Juravinski Hospital in his 89th year, at the age of 88. He will be heartbreakingly missed by his wife, Nancy Coutts, as well as Cathy and Thomas Phimister and Rob Greville. He was a constant and loving support in his grandchildren's lives, Laura Phimister, Samantha Phimister, and Steven Phimister. He was over the moon with the birth of his great-granddaughter Mackenzie Phimister. He was predeceased by his parents William and Kathleen Coutts and his siblings Mac Coutts and Mary Taylor. He is also missed by many nieces and nephews. Doug was the president of Parker Consultants for 10 years as well as a very active member of the MacNab Presbyterian Church. He was also an avid member of Dundas Valley Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf, watching baseball, politics, a good scotch, and spending time with his family and friends. The family would like to say thank you to the staff at Wentworth Heights, who have been caring for him these last few months as his mobility declined, as well as the staff on the orthopedic ward at Juravinski Hospital, who made his final days for his family calm and peaceful. Arrangements have been entrusted to Affordable Burial and Cremation. A celebration of his life will be held at The Ruby Restaurant at 1620 Upper Wentworth on the 10th floor in Hamilton on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton SPCA or MacNab Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family.
