Doreen COWAN

Doreen Cowan passed away peacefully in Hamilton, Ontario, on May 17, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on April 14, 1935, in Hamilton, Doreen spent her life rooted in the city she cherished, surrounded by family, friends, and a community she held dear. She was the beloved wife of the late John Cowan, who predeceased her in 1992. Married in 1959, their life together was one of devotion, partnership, and enduring love. Doreen was a proud and loving mother to John, Joe, Scott, Donald, and Donna. She was also a cherished sister to Margaret. Her family was everything to her, and she found her greatest joy in caring for, supporting, and spending time with those she loved. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain in their hearts forever. She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, gentle spirit, and appreciation for the arts. Doreen had a lifelong love of country music and found great enjoyment in attending theatre productions and the symphony. These passions brought her happiness throughout her life. Doreen's kindness, quiet strength, and devotion to her family leave behind a legacy that will not be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at L.G. Wallace Funeral Home, 151 Ottawa Street North, Hamilton, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. A burial service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
