Claudia ECKERT

Claudia Eckert passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 28, 2026, at the age of 88. She is reunited with her loving husband, Dieter, to whom she was married for 62 years, and her brother, Hans, who was killed in WWII. Claudia will be sorely missed by her son, Andrew, and her older sister, Eve Hyder, in California, who will mourn the loss forever. Eve's daughter, Sibet, and her husband, George Alspaugh, grieve together over the loss of Aunt Claudia. She will be forever missed by her sister-in-law, Margrit, and her husband, Volker. Margrit's daughter, Swantje, and her husband, Karsten, are also saddened by her passing. Born in Würzburg, Germany, on February 11, 1938, Claudia came to Canada in 1959, met and married Dieter in Hamilton on September 15, 1962. She and her husband traveled extensively and built a large circle of friends in Canada and Germany, and at the Hamilton Germania Club, all of whom share the loss. The staff, PSWs, nurses, and doctors at Victoria Gardens Long Term Care facility in Hamilton are appreciated for making her comfortable in her final months.
