Caterina "Rosa" CAPANO
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family, on February 21, 2026. Rosa is now reunited with her cherished husband, Maurizio, her five beloved children - Carmella McBride, Luciano Capano, Marcella Direkze (George), Michael Capano and Frank Capano - who predeceased her, as well as many other dear loved ones. She will be forever loved by her children, Pina Naccarato (Joe), Frank Capano (Joanne), Maria McBride (Brent) and Antonella Lafleur (Ray). She will be deeply cherished and fondly remembered by her 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Rosa will live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends in Canada and Italy. An extraordinary cook, her kitchen was the heart of her home. She showed her love through meals and baked goods, and no one ever left her table hungry. She took immense pride in her family and her home - a true bella figura. With elegance, quiet strength and a perfectionist's touch, she gave her very best to everything she did. She will be missed beyond words and remembered in every shared meal and every family gathering. Heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Bayshore Healthcare and CBI Health for the care and comfort they provided to Rosa in her final months. She will be deeply missed today, tomorrow and forever. Always in our hearts. Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Bayview Cemetery, Burlington.
