Bronislaw NOWICKI
Bronislaw Nowicki passed away at his home in Hamilton on August 14, 2026, at the age of 92. He was born in Jankowicze, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1949 when he was 16, later establishing his residence in Hamilton. He devoted 36 years to a career with Stelco, retiring in 1991, and earlier played professional soccer with the Venetian Club and other teams. In 1959 he met his future wife, Lillian, through the Symphonia Choir; they were married for 66 years. He is survived by his wife Lillian and his daughter Bronte (Karen). He is also survived by his sisters‑in‑law Christine Zawadzki (predeceased husband Carl) and Theresa Bogdanowski (predeceased husband Karol), and was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Tomasz and Olympia Nowicki, his brothers Kazimierz and Michael, and his sisters Mania and Emilia. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with Lillian, summer outings to Wasaga and Crystal Beach, and cooking traditional dishes such as chicken noodle soup, patyczki, pierogies, and cabbage rolls.
