Antonio "Tony" MERCANTI

Antonio 'Tony' Mercanti passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 88. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence Mercanti and loving father of Anna McDonald and her husband Doug. Tony was also a cherished Nonno to Brad and Cassandra McDonald. He was the dear son of the late Eusanio and Santina Mercanti, and brother to Iolanda Di Luca, Maria Ricci, and the late Giuseppe, Raffaele, Alfredo, Guerino, Gabriel, Nardino, and Costanza. Born in Castelli, Abruzzo, Italy, Tony immigrated to Canada in 1958, where he met his wife and later owned and operated Ontario Auto Collision with his brothers and nephew. He was a skilled automotive painter and had a passion for cars, fishing, and hunting. Tony will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home on August 7, followed by a funeral service on August 8. Entombment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
