Anselma FILIPOVICH

Anselma Filipovich passed away on May 17, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on February 23, 1928, in the Czech Republic, she immigrated to Canada from Germany in May 1953. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Filipovich, who died in 2020. Anselma is survived by her children, Hilda Milos and Ernestine Dryden, grandchildren Rosemary Milos, Michael Milos and his wife Susan, Brock Hotrum, and Rachelle Savoie, and great-grandchildren Mia Stratton and her fiancé Colin Burchill, and Simon Stratton. She is also survived by her nephew Tony Filipovic and his wife Tina, and their children Tommy and Katarina, niece Mary Filipovic and her children Ivan and Tanya, and long-time friends Zdenka Sokic, Slovka Sokic, and Nichola Sokic and their families. Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street E., Hamilton, on May 24, 2026, from 3-6 p.m., with prayers at 5:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home Chapel on May 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Mountview Gardens Cemetery, Stoney Creek.
