William Donald Coats

William Donald Coats of Guelph, Ontario, was born on June 16, 1930, and died on August 21, 2026, at the age of 96. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria, his sister Mary, and his daughter‑in‑law Paula. He is survived by his children Lyndy Edwards, Ian Coats (married to Laurie), Don Coats (married to Susanne), Karen Kitching (married to Jay) and Kathy Coats (married to Harold); his grandchildren Lindsay (son of Iain), Taryn (son of Austin), Rachael (son of Brandon), Nicola, Alanna, Pamela (son of Nick) and Jessica; and his sister‑in‑law Diane. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, ON N1G 4X9, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of books to be given to a local school library.
