Robert "Bob" E. Ankli

Robert 'Bob' E. Ankli passed away on July 20, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in St. Joseph, Michigan, to Vernon and Bertha 'Maloy' Ankli, Bob grew up alongside his brothers Richard, Ray, and Gene. He went on to build a distinguished career as a professor, economic historian, and author, dedicating much of his life to teaching in the Department of Economics at the University of Guelph and later at universities in Kuwait. Bob took great pride in his academic achievements, including his Ph.D. thesis and numerous publications on economic development, leadership, and industry. He is remembered as a dedicated educator who encouraged critical thinking and curiosity in his students.
