Maria Bernardi of Guelph, Ontario, was born on May 12, 1930, and died on August 24, 2026, at the age of 96. She is survived by her husband Valentino; siblings Arturo, Gagliano, Guido, Olga and Lina; in‑laws Giuseppe and Antoinetta; children Joseph (married to Nancy), Peter (married to Elena) and Paul; grandchildren Sara Gage (married to Josh), Valentino (married to Gina), Jon‑Paul (married to Lauren), Valentina (married to Vu), Joseph (married to Laura) and Anna‑Lisa; great‑grandchildren Luca Gage and Mary Bernardi; caregiver Dani; and numerous extended family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, ON N1G 4X9. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma Street, Guelph, ON N1E 1V6, followed by a committal service at Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Highway 6, Ariss, ON N0B 1B0, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., and a reception from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Italian Canadian Club, 135 Ferguson Street, Guelph, ON N1E 2Y7.
