Lazaros BOGIAS

Lazaros Bogias passed away on January 28, 2026, in his 89th year, surrounded by his loving family at Guelph General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Maria Elena, his children, Tripho and Kalliope, his stepchildren, Regis and Benjamin, his grandchildren, Ella, Jack, Valentin, Amandine, and Soline, and his sisters-in-law, Fernanda Mosca and Rosa Garrido, his brother-in-law, Luis Fernando Mosca, and his nephews, Gus and Chris Bogias. He was predeceased by his wife, Konstantina 'Dina', who passed away in 1998. Born in Greece, Lazaros later came to Canada in 1964 from Belgium in search of a better life. He worked as a welder at Babcock & Wilcox for 32 years and was known for his strong work ethic and deep devotion to his family. Friends and family will be received at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Lazaros will then be laid to rest at Mount View Cemetery in Cambridge. Donations in Lazaros' memory to the Cambridge Food Bank would be sincerely appreciated.
