Grant HICKS

Grant Hicks passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 10, 2025, at the age of 86, at Gilmore Lodge. He was the beloved husband of Myrna (nee Weaver) for 62 years. Grant was the loving father of Catharine Hicks (Drew Clarke) and Laura Hicks (Barry Kelly). He was the adored grandfather of Owen and Elliott Hicks-Kelly. Grant is also remembered by his brother, John (Sharon) Hicks, and brother-in-law, Kevin and Denise Weaver. He will be fondly remembered by his nephews, Paul Hicks and Robert Fretz; niece, Lisa Fretz; cousins, Melody Kaine, Larry Elbert, and Jack Driscoll; and many friends. Grant was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Lillian Hicks; and sisters, Judy Fretz and Cynthia Hicks. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region for their guidance and support. They would also like to thank Sandra Homan with Home and Community Care for her assistance in Grant's transition to Long Term Care, and Dr. Kim Scher for her care and commitment throughout the years. The family is grateful for the kind and caring staff at Gilmore Lodge, especially those in the Crystal Beach neighbourhood. In keeping with Grant's wishes, cremation has taken place.
