Catherine Mary SHERLOCK

Catherine Mary Sherlock passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 17, 2025, at the age of 97. She was born on November 10, 1927, in Guelph to Catarina Maria Vincenza Giovinazzo and Giacomo Domenico Antonio Carere. Catherine is survived by her son John Mark, daughter-in-law Yenisey Hernandez Infante, and beloved granddaughter Agnes Aurora Sherlock Hernandez. She is also survived by her sister Rita Stilo, sister-in-law Shirley, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Catherine was predeceased by her husband James Vincent Sherlock, as well as several brothers, sisters, and in-laws. She had a distinguished teaching career, earning her teacher's certificate from Stratford Normal School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario. Catherine taught at various schools, including Sacred Heart School, Notre Dame High School, and Cathedral Girls High School, where she was the Head of the Physical Education Department and led her teams to numerous championships. She retired as a teacher/librarian at St. John's Elementary School in Oakville.
