Mary Evelyn Reichheld (nee O'Dwyer)

Mary Evelyn Reichheld, née O'Dwyer, died on August 16, 2026, at Hamilton General Hospital, aged 76, with her husband Harold at her side. She was married to Harold for 53 years and is survived by her children Sean (Elaine), Kathryn and Lisa (Mike), and grandchildren Hailey, Kurt, Leah and Alyssa. Predeceased were her parents Dan and Doreen O'Dwyer, sister Sue O'Dwyer (Joe Galea) and brother Mike O'Dwyer, as well as brothers‑in‑law Keith Reichheld and Tom Peterson. She was also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins listed in the notice. Mary graduated as a Registered Nurse from Hamilton General Hospital in 1971 and devoted a 40‑year nursing career to patient care while balancing family responsibilities. She enjoyed friendships formed through her children’s activities, her colleagues, trips to Florida for Blue Jays spring training, and time at Camp Fisherman. Visitation will be held at Stonehouse‑Whitcomb Funeral Home, 11 Mountain Street, Grimsby, on August 20, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 4:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will follow at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby, on August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Grimsby Mountain Cemetery and a reception at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Hamilton Health Sciences, the Hotel Dieu Shaver, or a charity of the family’s choosing.
