Clifford George "George" THOMPSON

Clifford George 'George' Thompson passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at the age of 78, at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby, Ontario, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 12, 1948, in Hamilton, Ontario, to Edna Mae and Bernard George Thompson, George dedicated his life to his family, education, and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife Kathy, son Dr. Jesse Bernard John Thompson, daughter-in-law Izabela, and their sons Ellis George, Harvey, and Nelson, as well as his daughter Kate Patricia Mae Rothwell, son-in-law David Rothwell, and their daughter Charlotte. George had a distinguished career as an educator, teaching geography at Collegiate and Merritton Secondary Schools, and later working as a consultant with the Lincoln County Board of Education and the District School Board of Niagara, where he helped establish the Woodend Outdoor Education Centre. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his career.
