Mary Catherine Banbury Brittain

Mary Catherine Banbury Brittain passed away peacefully at the Hospice Waterloo Region on July 16, 2026, at the age of 81. Born to Catherine Annie Ruth Miller and Roy Warren Banbury in Moonstone, Ontario, Mary grew up to become a devoted wife to Richard Brittain and mother to their three daughters, Barb, Gwen, and Beth. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Allan Banbury. Mary was a pillar of the Ryde community and the Ryde Free Methodist church, and later became a beloved figure in Gravenhurst, where she and her family settled. She is survived by her husband, daughters, and seven grandchildren, Kate, Rebecca, William, Nico, Ian, Ally, and Mackenzie, who affectionately knew her as 'Grammie'. Mary's nieces and nephew, Wanda Cooke, Steve Brittain, Michelle Ranson, Julie Brittain, and Nicole Brittain, were also dear to her heart. Her faith and love of God were central to her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
