Dennis James McLAUGHLIN

Dennis James McLaughlin, a devoted husband, father, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 75, at Southlake Health in Newmarket. Born on September 21, 1950, in Toronto, Ontario, Dennis enriched the lives of those around him with his kind heart, caring nature, and methodical approach to both his personal and professional life. He dedicated over 40 years of his career to the Toronto Star, followed by 16 years as a senior software designer with LexisNexis, from which he enjoyed a well-deserved retirement on January 7, 2026. His enthusiasm for his work was matched only by his love for his family and his dogs. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn; his cherished daughter, Mollie; and his grand-pup, Jackson. Dennis is also remembered fondly by his sister, Carol Fullan, and many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family who held a special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his mother, Annie; father, Michael; and siblings Mary Duggan, Mickey, Terry, and John. A visitation will be held on March 14, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service starting at 11:30 a.m. at Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, located at 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton, Ontario. Immediately following the service, there will be a reception at Clearwater Farm. Memorial donations can be made in Dennis' honour to the Canadian Cancer Society.
