Fred LASHBROOK

Frederick John Lashbrook passed away on May 2, 2026, at the age of 93. He is survived by his loving daughters, Jill Kirby and Kim Eckel, and their spouses, Ryan and Glenn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, Matthew, Katie, and Emily, and their spouses, Jennifer, Billy, Caitlin, and Kyle. Fred was a special great-grandfather to Jackson, Amelia, Avery, Billy, Lyla, Madeline, Raymond, and Riley. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara, in 2018, as well as his parents, Russell Lashbrook and Ruth, his stepmother, Vera, and his siblings, William Lashbrook and Diane Smith. Fred and Barbara shared 62 wonderful years together after eloping. He was proud of his Galt roots and maintained lifelong friendships. Fred and Barbara operated Lashbrook's Shoes from 1970 to 1996. He had a talent for architecture and enjoyed building homes, cottages, and furniture. Fred and Barb enjoyed retirement in Foxboro, Baden, and he treasured time spent with friends and family. Donations to Hospice Waterloo Region and the Food Bank of Waterloo can be arranged through Erb and Good Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at a later date.
