Shawn Patrick HOOKEY

Shawn Patrick Hookey passed away on February 15, 2026. He was the loving son of Marlene Hookey and Robert Tappen, and was predeceased by his father, Ray Hookey, and his brother, Shane Hookey. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Shannon (Ron Eichner), his aunt, Chrissy, his cousins, Tabitha and Brody, and his best friend, Peter Martin. Shawn worked as a shipper/receiver at Salit Steel, where he was surrounded by coworkers who became friends. He faced his cancer diagnosis with remarkable strength and courage, and was cared for by his girlfriend, Debbie, who stood by his side throughout his illness. Shawn had a big heart and was always thinking of others. He loved his dogs, Hunter and Prince, and cherished them until their final days. A Celebration of Shawn's life will take place on February 28th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Welcome Centre of Fort Erie.
