Burdett Thomas Sisler
Burdett Thomas Sisler passed away on April 2, 2026, in his 111th year. He died at Garrison Place surrounded by his loving family. Burdett is survived by his children Sharon (Dave) Gill, Elizabeth (Christopher) Argentino, Burdett Adam Sisler, Norman (Margaret) Sisler, Lorraine Mars, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Mae in 1985, his granddaughter Deborah McPhee Pereira, and son-in-law Jan Mars. After serving in WWII, Burdett moved to Fort Erie where he worked with Canada Border Services for 30 years before retiring in 1979. The family thanks Dr. Csanadi, Dr. Scher, Marty Robbins, Sarah McPhee, and the staff and volunteers at Garrison Place for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #71 or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Benner Funeral Services. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 o'clock, followed by interment at McAffee Cemetery.
