Muriel Winnifred McGarry

Muriel Winnifred McGarry (née Walker) passed away on January 24, 2026, in her 93rd year. She was the beloved wife of the late David McGarry (2000), the loving mother to Grey of St. Catharines, and the late Peter (2007) of Welland. She was a cherished grandmother to Kyle (Sonya) and Devon (Curt), and a dear sister to Don (Linda) of St. Catharines. She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, and great-niece, Sloan. Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Harold 'Joe' Walker; her siblings, Bill Walker and Mary Wilson; and brothers-in-law, Bruce Wilson, Jim McGarry, and Peter McGarry. Born in Welland on December 11, 1933, Muriel studied Dental Assisting at the University of Toronto and later worked in London, Ontario. She married David in 1957 and together they built a warm family life in Niagara. A celebration of Muriel's life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Pelham Cares, both causes close to Muriel's heart.
