Leslie Check

Leslie Check passed away at his residence in Fonthill, Ontario, on June 17, 2026, at the age of 91. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of over 66 years; his daughter, Arlette, and her husband, Steve; his son, Paul, and his wife, Eliane; his brother, Stephen, who was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis; his grandchildren, Malcolm and his wife, Kayli, Adrian and his wife, Andrea, Julia, Marie, and Andrew; his great-grandchildren, Isla and Annelise; and his nephew, Steve. Leslie was born in Humberstone, Ontario, and had a distinguished teaching career, teaching English, French, Spanish, and Latin at various institutions, including Lycée Paul Langevin in Paris, France, and Welland High and Centennial Secondary in Welland, Ontario. He was also a skilled photographer and woodworker. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
