John Ivan McDermid

John Ivan McDermid passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Eden House Care Facility, Guelph, formerly from Flesherton, at the age of 88. He is reunited with his beloved wife Fern (nee McConnell, 2018). Ivan was the loving father of Randy, Deborah, and Rodney (Judy) all of Guelph. He was the cherished grandfather of Jade (Nick) Mewett, Samantha Hepburn, and Cody (Trish) McDermid. Ivan was the proud great-grandfather of Braxton, Harlow, Lochlan, and Fern. He was the dear brother of Allan, Ken (Jean), and Mary, all of Guelph. Ivan was predeceased by his parents, J. Charles and Minnie, and brother, Norman. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at the Flesherton Cemetery on Friday, May 29th.
