Gerald Raymond "Gerry" Kading
Gerald Raymond Kading passed away peacefully at Strathmere Lodge on August 19, 2026, at the age of 87. He was the husband of Pat (Cann) Kading for 63 years, father of Bryan (Jill) Kading and Karen West, and grandfather to Spencer (Katie) Kading, Jackson (Kara) Kading, and Tyler West, as well as great‑grandfather to Scottie Kading and Joey Kading. He is survived by his sister Carol Willard, numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Jeanne Kading, his brother‑in‑law Eugene Willard, and his nephew Calvin Willard. Gerald spent four decades employed by Dashwood Industries and was a long‑time resident of Southcott Pines in Grand Bend, where he was a well‑known community figure. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and boating, and loved to travel. Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 118 Dashwood Main Street, Dashwood, on Wednesday, August 26, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. The family requests donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and accepts online condolences at www.haskettfh.com.
