Brian Douglas 'Sarge' Munro
Brian Douglas Munro, known to friends as "Sarge," died at home on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the age of 77. He was survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra (Mistele) Munro; his sons William "Mike" Munro, husband of Anne Seabrook, and Matthew Munro, husband of Kellie; and his grandchildren Sam and Skye Gussack-Munro. He was also survived by his sister‑in‑law Bonnie Cashmore (wife of Mike), Jackie Reibling (wife of Glenn), Kay Munro (wife of Bill) and Mary Munro (wife of John), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents William and Olga (Bashura) Munro, his step‑mother Geraldine (Laley) Munro, his brothers William "Bill" and John Munro, and brother‑in‑law Glenn Reibling. Brian grew up on his family farm in the Windsor/Harrow area and served nearly three decades with the Ontario Provincial Police in Middlesex County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising horses with his father and brothers, and later participated in the harness‑racing community as part owner of the horse "Local Boy." An avid golfer, he played in both the London and Tampa Bay courses and spent many winters in Florida where he formed lasting friendships. In his later years he favored card games with family and friends, shared evenings with Sandra watching his favorite programs, and cheered the Toronto Blue Jays.
