Ruth Reid Shortreed

Ruth Reid Shortreed passed away on January 26, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on August 8, 1943, in Bathurst, New Brunswick, to Margaret and Harry Porter, Ruth was raised in North York and later lived in Chatham and Port Hope. She is survived by her husband, Lowell, and her children, David, Andrea, and Leona. Ruth is also survived by her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Porter. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, and Ruth will be laid to rest at the Union Cemetery in Port Hope, Ontario.
